CW104 fight card and broadcast details
Cage Warriors 104 fight week is here. This Saturday night, Europe’s leading MMA promotion return to Cardiff to stage their biggest Welsh event ever, headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Wales’ own world champion Jack Shore and Scottish challenger Scott Malone.
Shore is still unbeaten with a perfect record of 10-0, but for him this fight means more than just another chance to improve his record. By defending the world title he won in December, he can prove his ‘true’ champion status to his doubters.
In a recent interview with the BBC, he said: “It’ll be one to tick off the list, defending the belt, because people say you’re not truly the champion until you have defended it. I look forward to doing that.”
On the other side of the cage will be Scott Malone, whose 6-fight win streak includes a dominant win over Shore’s long-time teammate Josh Reed in his last outing. Malone is predicting another impressive finish within the opening rounds, and insists that walking out in enemy territory won’t phase him on Saturday night.
CW104’s co-main event will see Cardiff’s Aaron Khalid – who finished his last 3 fights within the distance – take on Tom ‘Kong’ Watson, who enters the Cage Warriors roster after a 7-fight run with the UFC.
The main card also features a lightweight battle between Mason Jones and Donovan Desmae, and the return of Cory McKenna – one of the top female MMA prospects in Europe.
On the pro preliminary card, Welsh fan favourites Josh Reed, Kris Edwards and Oban Elliott look to bring home wins for the Cardiff crowd. Before that, two amateur title fights top the Cage Warriors Academy card, showcasing the top amateur talent from Wales and across the UK.
“We’re seeing a real surge in Welsh talent at the moment that makes it such an exciting territory for Cage Warriors,” says the promotion’s President Graham Boylan.
“Shore vs Malone for the title is a huge main event. Jack has managed to assemble a Welsh fan base on a level we’ve never really seen before. Think Conor McGregor in Dublin – this is going to be massive.”
Ticket holders at the Viola Arena can also attend CW104’s Fan Meet & Greet, with UFC legend Dan Hardy, former Cage Warriors flyweight champion and now UFC star Molly McCann and current featherweight champion Dean Trueman.
Doors at the Viola Arena open at 4PM. Tickets are still available HERE.
