UFC 228 weigh-in results: Woodley, Till cleared – Montano ruled out
DALLAS – Official UFC 228 fighter weigh-ins, where one title fight was scratched – but not the one everyone was worried about.
The early weigh-ins took place at the UFC host hotel in Dallas and precede the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans, which take place at 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT local time) at American Airlines Center in Dallas. The same venue hosts Saturday’s event, which has a main card on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and UFC Fight Pass.
Among those weighing in were welterweight champion Tyron Woodley (18-3-1 MMA, 8-2-1 UFC) and challenger Darren Till (17-0-1 MMA, 5-0-1 UFC), who meet in the main event title fight. Despite the concern surrounding Till, he registered 169 pounds, with Woodley following shortly after at 170.
Meanwhile, women’s flyweight champion Nicco Montano (4-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) did not make it to the scale after being ruled medically ineligible, and her fight with Valentina Shevchenko (15-3 MMA, 4-2 UFC) was scratched.
